Virtuose Peter Beets showed his skills on piano to the band and its audience in a beautiful last concert of our 24th year in Theater Bouwkunde.
One of the leading Dutch trombone players is Ilja Reingoud. In April he played with the MJO in Deventer.
Some years ago Abraham Burton was the band’s soloist on alto saxophone, but this time he played on tenor. Wow, this was also a great experience!
Benjamin Herman is mostly known working with his own band, the New Cool Collective, but this evening he was the guest soloist on alto saxophone in Deventer.
The New Year’s concert with the lively/spirited playing of trumpeter Jan van Duikeren was a beautiful start in 2014.
The Dutch vibraphone player Frits Landesbergen is the orchestra’s soloist in December. Apart from Frits’ arrangements, also big band charts were played of the period of Terry Gibbs Dream Band.

In November the Millennium Jazz Orchestra was invited by ViVace to perform on the 25th anniversary of Crematory Almelo. It was a nice concert with two guest soloists: pianist Cor Bakker and baritone saxophonist Ronnie Cuber.
With the Dutch singer Paulien van Schaik the Millennium Jazz Orchestra started the new concert series Theatre Bouwkunde in Deventer.
